Marrel Skip Bin

When you think of a skip bin, this is probably the skip that will immediately spring to mind. The most common skip bin on the market, the marrel is used for both domestic rubbish and commercial waste. Marrel skip bin sizes start from 2 cubic metres, right through to sizes as large as 17 cubic metres. With high sides and a short length, the marrel tends to need an area of space roughly the size of a car parking space. The marrelbin is lowered down into its space. An access clearance area of 3metres is required. Also, there must be no foliage, branches or wires in the way of the drop down area. Marrel skip bins can come with wheelbarrow access, however, please clarify if this is something you need. This is to ensure that we deliver you the skip that meets your requirements.

Hook Lift Skip Bin

The hook lift skip bin is loaded on and off a truck by using a hook that grabs the skip, before rolling it off into the space it is designated for. Large rear doors that open and a rectangular shape make using a bobcat easy. The size variation covers everything from 4m3 to 30m3 and means that there is a hook lift skip to cover all requirements. Used primarily for commercial and waste disposal, the hook lift skip can be used for domestic waste. However this is relatively rare and they usually go hand in hand with the sale of an estate, or complete renovation. In these cases, the quantity of rubbish would overloads a marrel skip.

Mobile Skip Bin

Mobile skip bins are great for people who need to get rid of waste in awkward places. For example, under carports or offices that have an underground parking area. You will need a permit if you wish to place a skip bin on council land. This is important in order to ensure that you are acting within the constraints of the law. However, with a mobile skip bin, you will not need a permit. This means you save time and effort, as the mobile bin is a trailer that is registered to the road. The only cost you pay is the hire of the bin. You can use the bin to get closer to the source of your rubbish, and each skip comes with a lockable lid.  This means that only you can use the mobile skip bin. However, there are some restrictions as to what you can put into a mobile skip bin.  Only the following waste types are permitted:

  1. General waste
  2. Light green waste
  3. Light building waste

If you need to get rid of waste that falls under other criteria, including soil, bricks, rubble, stones and concrete, then you will need to hire a bin that is specifically for these items. There is a weight limit in place on mobile skip bins in order to ensure all transportation is carried out safely.  You can choose from two sizes – 3 and 4 cubic metres. However there may be other size options available where stated.

WHICH SKIP BIN SIZE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

When it comes to choosing your bin size, there are a few things you’ll need to consider to find the right size for you. You should consider the waste type you’ll need, the amount of waste to dispose of and the size of the materials. To ensure you get the right size skip, you should organise what you are throwing away BEFORE you order your bin. This way, you’ll have a good idea of the amount of waste you have and whether you need a bigger or smaller skip. It is common for people to underestimate the size they need, so this will help ensure your size is suitable. For those who can’t organise the waste beforehand, we do recommend looking at what you’ll be throwing away. This will give you a general idea of the skip size you’ll need. It can also help us narrow down sizes if you give us a call for assistance.

Finally, you will want to keep in mind where your skip will be located. The location will also impact the bin as you may not have space for our largest size. That is why we recommend you establish where you will place your skip bin before you order one.
